This sample holder is suitable for laboratory solar cells made on a 25 x 20 mm substrate, and presenting electrical contacts at both short edges, such as Solaronix' laboratory perovskite solar cells, and cells made from our Monolithic Perovskite Solar Cell Kit.
The sample holder consists in a metal base fitted with a printed circuit board providing electrical connections. The latter is offering ports for four wire sensing. The sample is connected with a total of 8 spring-loaded pins for redundancy.
The sample is held in place under a hood attached to the base plate with the help of magnets for quick manipulation. This setup ensures that no significant additional light is allowed to enter the device under test.
The top cover can magnetically hold a metal shim featuring a predefined aperture. This sample holder comes with a standard 8 x 8 mm (0.64 cm2), as well as a 4.5 mm diameter (0.159 cm2) and a 1 cm2 aperture mask. A solid mask with no aperture is also provided for measurements in the dark.
The base plate has a protruding area that offers thermal contact to the device under test, so that it can be coupled to an external thermostated support. A 0.85 mm spacer is provided to accommodate for a gap variation between the base plate and the back of the sample.
The construction is designed to tolerate small variations in substrate size and thickness. Hood and masks can be slightly shifted as well.
