Ni-Nanoxide N/SP is a nanoparticle paste designed for preparing mesoporous nickel oxide photo-cathodes (p-type semiconductor).
Dye-sensitized photo-cathodes operate in a reverse mode compared with conventional DSCs. The electron cascade occurs from the excited dye to the oxidized species of the electrolyte, and from the p-type semiconductor valence band to the ground level of the sensitizer.
Ni-Nanoxide N/SP is the first commercially available nickel oxide paste to facilitate the development of highly efficient p-type DSCs. Together with n-type semiconductor pastes like our Ti-Nanoxide products, it is possible to fabricate tandem p/n-type DSCs with efficiencies equal to or superior to conventional n-type DSCs.
This paste can be easily applied by screen-printing. After firing at 300°C, it forms a mesoporous layer of nickel oxide having a semi-transparent grey appearance.
